Major Events of Ironclad

Throughout its history, Ironclad Vanilla has hosted community events, elections, competitions, city expansions, public projects, and server-wide celebrations. These events have helped shape the server's culture and history while creating lasting memories for players.

The Riverside Ghost Skull Hunt (2019)

Ghost Event

One of the earliest documented server events was the Ghost Skull Hunt held in Riverside.

On March 10, 2019, a data pack where players were challenged to locate ten hidden ghost skulls scattered throughout spawn was added. Players who successfully found and interacted with all ten skulls received a reward of $500.

The event returned on March 15, 2019, when the skulls were rehidden again throughout Riverside, including underground locations and player-built structures near spawn.

This event became one of the first organized scavenger hunts in Ironclad.

The Government Update (2019)

On July 11, 2019, Ironclad introduced one of the most ambitious social experiments on the server: the Government Update.

The goal was to create a functioning government within Spawn Town, allowing players to serve in elected and appointed positions responsible for managing various aspects of the city.

The first government offices included.

Voting
  • Postmaster
  • Transportation Director
  • Mayor
  • Clerk
  • Sheriff
  • Deputy
  • Chief Architect
  • Parks and Recreation Director
  • Trading Post Manager
  • Server Storage Director
  • Maintenance Manager
  • Judge
  • Farm Manager
  • Museum Curator

Players submitted candidacy paperwork at the courthouse and elections were held to determine office holders.

The government system became one of the defining features of early Riverside.

The New Haven Migration (2019)

New Haven

On October 28, 2019, Ironclad celebrated its first anniversary.

To mark the occasion, a new city named New Haven was established as the server's primary spawn point.

Nearly 2,000 players had contributed to Riverside by this time. Rather than abandoning the city, Riverside became a historic location while New Haven became the center of a new generation of development.

This marked the first major spawn transition in Ironclad.

The Founding of Birch Creek (2020)

Birch Creek

On June 20, 2020, Birch Creek was officially established.

Located northeast of New Haven in a birch forest region, Birch Creek represented another fresh start for players seeking new opportunities and community projects.

Players could access Birch Creek through the spawn system and were encouraged to help shape the settlement.

The Birch Creek Treasure Hunt (2020)

Treasure Hunt

On August 28, 2020, Turtle hosted Ironclad's first Lodestone Treasure Hunt.

Players were given Lodestone Compasses that pointed toward hidden lootboxes containing valuable rewards.

Four lootboxes were hidden throughout the world

The Birch Creek Treasure Hunt concluded successfully on August 28, 2020. The four hidden lootboxes were discovered and claimed by:

  • Direct
  • 5Tom5
  • Sivior
  • GarbyGas

These players became the winners of Ironclad's Lodestone Compass treasure hunt event

The Riverside Mayor Election (2020)

In December 2020, Riverside held one of its most significant elections.

Players submitted candidacy papers through the Riverside Courthouse and campaigned for office.

Voting officially occurred on December 31, 2020.

MrYuckey was elected Mayor of Riverside.

The election demonstrated the continued importance of player government systems long after Riverside ceased being the primary spawn.

The Lord of New Haven Election (2020)

Following the Riverside mayoral election, New Haven held its own leadership election. Players wishing to run for office were required to travel to the New Haven Courthouse, submit candidacy paperwork, gather supporters, and participate in the election process.

bob_the_job was elected Lord of New Haven. The election was historically significant because it marked a period where Riverside, New Haven, and Birch Creek all possessed organized leadership structures simultaneously. This represented the height of the Government Update system introduced in 2019 and demonstrated Ironclad's commitment to player-driven administration.

With Riverside, New Haven, and Birch Creek all having leadership positions, Ironclad entered a period where multiple major settlements operated simultaneously under player leadership.

The Halloween Build Competition (2023)

Halloween Event
