			Five players. One corner. The Mezzanine level of the Underside Mall Lobby — a structure that, until that evening, had known nothing but the quiet hum of the cold Minecraft night and the distant screech of Phantoms. They had gathered peacefully, sitting on stairs in the way that players do when there is nowhere particular to be. No words. No warning signs. No indication that what was about to unfold would shatter the calm of that lobby forever.

			Then — contact.

			Zaprite, the player behind the dragon head, struck first. Or perhaps he didn't. In the heat of the moment, in the blur of bodies and the sudden collapse of civility, the sequence of events became impossible to trace. What is known is this: at some point, a fist connected with asoundguy. Then Skyphia. Then WeepingStones. Then Mosh. One after another, in rapid, almost methodical succession, as though the dragon head itself had made the decision before its wearer ever could.

			Before Zaprite could fully process what was happening, he was already deep inside a brawl he could not explain. No alliances. No teams. No honor code. The Mezzanine, designed for leisure and community, had become a warzone in the span of a heartbeat. It was every player for themselves.

			And then, through the chaos, a familiar figure stepped into the fray.

			The very same player who, mere minutes before, had been leading this exact group on a good-natured tour of the old spawns. A man of infrastructure. A man of community. A supreme leader. The architect of the very subway system that had brought these five players together under one roof. And yet there he was, on the other side of the spruce fence, throwing punches at anyone he can reach. Zaprite, operating on pure instinct at this point, turned and punched him too.

			And then the sky answered.

			A bolt of lightning split the air above the Mezzanine, striking the brawlers where they stood. Two names circulated in the aftermath. The one who quite possible commanded smite upon everyone. Turtle, the server owner, present and accounted for. asoundguy, a moderator, equally capable. Neither confirmed. Neither denied. The bolt came and went like everything else that night, without explanation.

			Whether Turtle arrived as a peacekeeper and was swallowed by the violence, or whether something older and more primal took hold of him in that moment, no one can say. He was there. And then, just as quickly, he was gone.

			The brawl ran its course. No moderator intervened. No authority descended from above. The violence simply exhausted itself, the way all fires do when there is nothing left to consume. Five players walked away. Not a single casualty. Not a single item lost.

			The Underside Mall Lobby stood as it always had. Still. Waiting.

			But those who were present on the night of the 20th of May know what happened in that corner of the Mezzanine. They were there when five peaceful players became something else entirely, if only for a moment.

			The origin of the brawl was never confirmed.
